A SAUDI WOMAN WHO DARED TO DRIVE

This video tell the story of Manal al-Sharif, a woman in Saudi Arabia, that from a personal experience start a fight for the rights of Arab women.

One day Manal al-Sharif was driving a car in her country, a country where women don't usually drive cars. Result, she and her brother, were arrested. She by drive, and he by pass the keys.

After that, she received a lot of insults and threats through many socials web pages in her own country, but for the rest of the world she was a heroin.

The question is that in this country the law doesn't speak about cars and women, so this is not just a oppressive government , is the oppressive society, guided by religious traditions and  misinterpretations of the religious laws,  the principal problem.

Over time, Manal al-Sharif with brave Saudis women begin the fight for women's liberation, through the right to drive. With time Saudi women began to drive cars and finally in 2013 the government authorized women to drive, although religious authorities do not recommend according to them the fact that women driving is associated with increased infidelity.

Personally, I find it very difficult to size a society where women are devalued. However it is a reality. So I ask myself, what can we do?  How can we help?, cause it's difficult to influence when we talk about religious traditions. I think that religions are not healthy when they are imposed, secrete and especially when discriminate

I need to express my big admiration, for all these women who has the value to be heard. All these women who open her eyes and fight to be free. But specially by all these Saudi women that nonetheless love their country and want to build on it a better place.
