Movie Review

Name of Movie: Earth 2100
Describe/list/ outline the main themes of the movie.  (50 words)

The more important problems presented in the movie were:

Misuse of energy resources: The movie presents the loss of many energy resources, for example the natural oil, which was over-exploited.

Overpopulation: The movie presents not only the increase of population, it show we that lot of these people live in urban cities. So the population density will be increases.

Climate change:  The movie show a lot of storm that destroyed and flood cities, like New York. Show the end of glacers too.

Write a review (200 words) of the video.  Highlight the importance of the movie’s information/ themes/ topics to your own personal experience and professional perspective.

The movie shows we cities with overpopulation, with people who try to move in there to do his life, and maybe that will be true.

Cities grown and grown and grown! Are we, the architects, qualified to make healthy and population’s cities? It will be hard, cause all days we have new technology, new incentives, that control and change the human behavior. So we need to prepare our cities for changes. I don’t know if an architect could plan at the same speed us the world system, but I’m sure that an architect have a lot of influence in the ways that a city choose to grow.

We must show the healthy way! I know it’s hard to do, but if we stop to create a “monster city”, we can use that energy to think, create and show a new form to live.

We need to stop to build with materials that have a high carbon footprint. We need to take care of water, air, animals and plants. But the most important is that we need to stop to created uncomfortable smaller houses for people who try to fight with the crazy world system, just by money. A city must be healthy to have healthy and happy citizen.

List a minimum of three facts, pieces of important information or “other” from the video that you would like to remember and would want to tell a friend about.

1. NO MORE CARS PLEASE        ! If the movie shows me something is that all type of energy resource, which was not renewables, will be problematic. And if you think in a city with 10 millions of people, try to imagine the roads. It’s better to choose more healthy ways. For example the bicycle, public transport or just walk a little more.

2. TAKE CARE OF RENEWABLES RESOURCE! The movie shows that we live today thinking that these are eternal resources. But for that we need to cultivate the wood, take care of water, not get dirty, etc.

3. THINK ABOUT NEWS GENERATIONS! When Lucy see her grandchild he think “I haven’t all the knowledge” It’s important to take care of the new child, maybe they will show we how to live.

  1. Giselle,

WC: 420. That's too much. The exercise required 300 words. Synthesis is part of the objective of this exercise. Please, try to stick to the instructions in the future.

You can certainly make a point regarding your point of view about the environment and the future. However, your text needs much more revision. You present difficulties with matters like: 3rd person singular -S, you have pluralized adjectives (you do not do that), confused object pronouns with subject pronouns. (Shall I use "we" or "us"?)...

All of these problems make your paragraph not so easy to read. Please, check the corrections and go back to it:

I don’t know if an architect could plan at the same speed AS (us) the world system (¿), but I’m sure that an architect (have) HAS a lot of influence in the ways that a city chooseS to grow.

We must show the healthy way! I know it’s hard to do, but if we stop to create a “monster city”, we can use that energy to think, create and show a new form to live. (WAY OF LIFE? )
